FOOTBALL the CARD GAME is, as the title says, a card game that is based on the game of football and takes only 10 to 15 minutes to play.  It is very realistic as far as the amount of scoring that is done and the different ways that you can score.  Games usually result in scores in the 20’s, however very high and low amounts of scoring can and does occur. Records It all depends on the cards that are dealt and the way you play those cards. Points can be scored the same ways they are in the real game of football…touchdowns, safeties, field goals, extra points, 2-point conversion, scores off of a turnover.

Caution: Pregnant women should not play this game!

The Cards that are used are made of high quality Premium-300 Paper Card Stock with Plastic Coating.
Two Reference Point Scale cards are included with the game along with a set of Rules.

 Tournament and/or Bracket play

If you have a number of friends that like to play this game, one thing that we have found to be very exciting is to play 2-person teams and rotate your partners.  If you win, you keep your partner, and move up towards the head table.  If you lose, you switch your partner, and drop back a table or more depending on the number of 2-person teams that are playing.

The way we start is, we have everyone draw a card from a regular deck of cards. This card will tell a player not only at what table he will start at but also who his partner will be to start.  For example, if you have 16 people gathered to play, you will use only 16 cards from a regular deck of cards.  These cards would be all the aces, two’s three’s and four’s.  The two players who drew the two red aces would start at the head table and play against the two players who drew the two black aces.  The two players who drew the two red two’s would start at table #2 and play against the two players who drew the two black two’s.  Table’s #3 and #4  (or how many tables and players you had) would be filled the same way.  Once each table has played a game the players would move as follows...

The winners at table #1 stay at table #1 and keep their partner.
The winners at table #2 move up to table #1 and keep their partner.
The winners at table #3 move up to table #2 and keep their partner.
The winners at table #4 move up to table #2 and keep their partner.

The losers at table #1 move down to table #3 and switch partners.
The losers at table #2 move down to table #3 and switch partners.
The losers at table #3 move down to table #4 and switch partners.
The losers at table #4 stay at table #4 and switch partners.

The same similar sequence could be used as the number of players and table increase or decease.

Score Cards

If you had enough friends that liked to play, you could play the entire regular NFL season.  Each team would choose which NFL team they would like to be and then play that teams official schedule.  If you were to play this with a partner, you would just keep your partner through out.  Playing the entire NFL season and playoff games would probably take two gatherings to complete.

Developing this game so that it could be played on-line is being looked into.  This would definitely open the possibilities to play league style games and tournaments with a vast amount of players and teams.
